Among the activities to fulfill our mission, Worcester Common Ground owns and manages 70 affordable rental units.  We have developed a further 68 units of affordable housing that have been sold to first time homebuyers (the land of which is held under our Community Land Trust) and 66 units of tax credit-funded affordable housing that are managed by Maloney Properties.  Over the years, WCG has either supported the rehabilitation of, directly rehabilitated or preserved the affordability of an additional 11 units in the city (2 at 52 Mason Street, 2 at 32 Castle Street, 1 at 34 Castle Street and 6 at 60 Providence Street).  Finally, three of our properties (5 Piedmont Street, 300 Pleasant Street and 133 Chandler Street) are also mixed use, and have retail units which are rented to or utilized by Worcester-based businesses and organizations (3 total).

We also own and maintain a number of open spaces for neighborhood group and local organizations' use.  These include the five parcels (7&9 Oread Place, 8 Preston Street and 7&9 Jaques) which, combined, form the three gardens farmed by EAT Center participants.  Finally, we hold the land in trust for the Castle Neighborhood Community Garden (2 Valley Street) and own and manage a community-founded playground (the Tot Lot, located at 122 Austin Street).
